2.5 Days & Counting!

Sorry it’s been a while since our last blog, you wouldn’t believe how busy we’ve all been! Here’s a brief round up of featured events that have taken place to bring you up to speed.

Maybe the most important update for you all was when our official Wristbands went on sale in July

Also in July we released a fun but very addicitive game for supporters to win an iPad, unfortunately no one was able to reach the level required to win, but we’ve left the game live so people can still play it :)

And again in July (it was a very busy month) you were all introduced to our Team Mascot

But the poor sweet Monster had no name…… that’s where you guys came in, we put it to the vote via our Facebook page and SLONE won by a landslide!

In August we decided an updated promotional video was in need with a catchy backing track. We toyed with a few ideas but friends of Tour de Forces had the answer we sought! The Breaks Collective have a Charity Single called ‘GREAT BRITAIN’ on release raising funds for the RNLI & RMCTF, the song was perfect for us so we were delighted when the group gave their permission to use it for our video. The single is currently available on ‘ iTunes.

Shortly after we released our video we received confirmation from
The Breaks Collective that they are to be featured on BBC Spotlight and our video would be shown.

We have a few media interviews taking place between now and Saturday morning, just today we featured in the North Devon Gazette (page 8), the first of many appearances during the run up to our launch.

Apart from various small events locally raising funds whilst preparations for the main event  were being finalised that pretty much brings you all up to speed with the bulk of activity for the last two months, behind the scenes it’s been hectic. Lots of late nights, working seven days a week to ensure we have everything they’re going to need on the challenge.

There are a few places on the route that accommodation still needs to be secured at, but we’re confident the Great British public’s generosity will pull their resources to put a roof over our heads for a night or two! If you want to see if you can help CLICK HERE to see the list of outstanding locations.

We launch Saturday 1st September from Royal Citadel, Plymouth. If you’re in the area come on down from 08:00 to see us off on our challenge. Don’t forget you can follow our check-ins on FourSquare.

We’ll update you from the road :)
